Lindores Abbey is a young and fascinating Lowland distillery built on the site of the historic Lindores Abbey in Newburgh, considered one of the historic places of early whisky production in Scotland. This independent bottling by North Star Spirits was released in 2026 to mark the tenth anniversary of the brand.
The Lindores Abbey 6 Years Old is a single malt Scotch whisky distilled in July 2019 and bottled in March 2026. The whisky was matured entirely in a special ex-peated Pedro Ximénez (PX) sherry hogshead — a cask that previously held PX sherry and then peated whisky, capable of layering smoke and sweetness over the delicate Lowland spirit. It is bottled at natural cask strength (60% vol.), without chill filtration and at its natural colour.

Color: Full gold with coppery reflections.
Nose: Light and vaporous smoke with a briny edge, embers of wood brought by the sea and splashes of saltiness, on a classic Lindores base of fresh orchard fruit, vanilla and cereals.
Palate: Decisive and full-bodied, opens with juicy notes of baked apple and ripe pear, followed by creamy vanilla and caramelised sugar.
Finish: Of good persistence, with a persistent trail of spices, oak, molasses and almond paste.
